The practice has covered commercialization strategy, market intelligence, and business development for biotech, life-science, and healthtech companies since 2012, in the United States and in France.
We reply within two business days, in English or in French.
NEW · BUILT IN-HOUSE
GrantScope, a recent addition to the practice.
GrantScope was built in-house for a question clients kept bringing: does the government already fund work like this? Describe a technology and it returns a strategic read in minutes: the Institute to target, the SBIR/STTR mechanism to use, the terms to search, and a first-draft Specific Aims page you can download as a PDF.
The basic read is free, with nothing to sign up for: up to 3 reads a day, covering the US federal and private landscape. Non-dilutive money is global, though; reading across the US, EU, UK, France, and Canada in one strategy is where a conversation with the practice begins, and where the daily limit lifts. GrantScope does not promise awards; outcomes depend on your science and the review.
The core of the practice: taking a technology and building the commercial case for it. Positioning, value creation, and the route to revenue.
02
Market & funding intelligence
Landscapes built from primary sources: who is funded, who is buying, what the field actually pays for, and what a company is worth.
03
Brand, communications & productization
Branding strategy, naming, and visual identity down to the logo; turning capabilities into products people can buy; and the communications that carry them. The practice designs its own materials, including the mark on this page.
04
New products & scouting
Scouting and development of new products and services. Lately that has meant TechBio, digital media, and AI-enabled tools.
05
France & the United States
Moving companies between the two ecosystems, in either direction: market entry, partner search, and local footing. A good part of the practice's work runs across the Atlantic.
THE NAME
pix·ka·na·ka
BASQUE, ADVERB · LITTLE BY LITTLE; GRADUALLY
The word describes how the practice works. Markets are not entered in one move, and commercial positions are not declared into existence. They are built the way a cairn is built: one stone set, checked that it holds, then the next. Each engagement is scoped small enough to be judged on its own results and useful enough to justify the step after it, which is why engagements tend to last for years.
